Our Government

Our government isn’t a democracy. It’s a shamocracy. We have a government of the people, but it certainly isn’t by the people or for all the people.

Our economy has been declining for decades; total government and private debt is at an all-time high; middle-class Americans are being squeezed by low wages and higher prices; our schools have become shooting ranges; and our political leaders put themselves, their party, and their cronies ahead of our
country.

High on Americans’ list of fears (which are well-justified) are corrupt government officials, an economic collapse, becoming insolvent, gun violence, and high medical bills. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

What have our elected politicians done about these serious issues in the past forty years? Mostly, blame the other political party, lie about anything to promote themselves or their party, accept generous campaign donations from their wealthy patrons in exchange for being able to influence legislation,
and simply do nothing.

Our approach to helping change our dysfunctional shamocracy into an effective democracy will be to:

  • Tell the truth about our country’s dismal situation and our government’s performance.
  • Suggest options for improving what our government is and how it works.
  • Enlist the support of like-minded organizations to persuade Congress to improve how our government works and what it accomplishes.

We desperately need a government that will tackle our long list of problems and the powerful headwinds of an aging population, global warming, and increasing competition from countries capable of becoming powerful rivals.

Few politicians admit our government is broken, but polls indicate that’s what most Americans say.

Any company with those dismal customer satisfaction numbers would quickly go out of business – which USA, Inc. is doing on several fronts.

To reverse our country’s decline we need political leaders who will focus on doing what’s best for our country instead of what they think is best for their career.

How do you think this can be accomplished?
